It was analysis of play Antigone and general literature. We were discussing about characters in Antigone, concept of a tragic hero in literature and Theme in a literature and their types.
We were analyzing the theme in the play and types of theme in the play. I was able to analyze and differentiate implicit and explicit themes in literature. I also wrote down an example of each theme in Antigone. The conversation between two sisters was explicit and gender inequality visible within the conversation was implicit theme. I also understood the concept of a tragic hero in a literature.
What makes a character a tragic hero?
1: Make serious error
2: Endowed within tragic flaw
3: Face tragic death
4: Affected by pity and fate
5: Accept death with honor

Common characteristics of a tragic hero:
1: His actions result in increasing self-awareness and self-knowledge.
2: Audience feel pity and fear for the character.

Note: A modern day tragic hero might not die. Example: Wolf of Wall Street.

This lecture helped me analyze the characters Antigone and Creon. This character analysis and tragic hero was also use full in published writing 1 and paper 1
